I started to paint in 1981. I was 5 years out of graduate school with a MFA in ceramic scuplture but I needed to take more drawing courses; even as a sculptress I think a drawing foundation is essential.

In the same studio were offered painting courses and out of curiosity I decided to try my hand at painting.

After I put the first dab onto the canvas I realized that I was really a painter and have been painting ever since.

I still love clay and have lots of sculptures dancing around in my head but for now I'm very content playing with color.
